HENDERSON, Tex. —
A 16-year-old East Texas youth who pleaded guilty to beating his 11-year-old brother to death with an aluminum baseball bat was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.
The jury of seven women and five men deliberated just over an hour before returning the sentence against Timothy Dwaine Brown.
Brown, who was certified to stand trial as an adult, will begin serving the sentence immediately, authorities said. He also faces murder charges in the shooting deaths of his father and grandmother.
