East German Pacifist Now Jailed in West

WEST BERLIN —
Pacifist Roland Jahn, once jailed in his native East Germany for backing the Polish Solidarity trade union, went to prison Wednesday in West Berlin for his part in a peace protest.
Jahn, 32, was imprisoned for taking part in a sitdown by anti-nuclear protesters at the U.S. air base at Bitburg, near West Germany’s border with Luxembourg, in June, 1983.
