Beverly Hills Rent Increases Held to 4.7%

Share

The maximum rental increase for rent-controlled apartments in Beverly Hills in January, 1986, will be 4.7%, according to a spokesman in the city manager’s office.

The rate, which has been virtually unchanged for a year, is based on an average of consumer price levels in greater Los Angeles.

About 5,000 of the city’s 8,400 rental units are covered by the rent-control system.

Since landlords must give a 30-day notice before asking for a rent increase, they are urged to contact the city’s rent stabilization office at 550-4939 to determine what the rate will be in February, the spokesman said.
