The State : Ng Trial Set to Start Today

The trial of mass murder suspect Charles Ng on charges of attempted murder and theft is set to begin today in Calgary, Canada. Ng is wanted in California as a possible accomplice to murders believed to have been committed by Leonard Lake, who committed suicide last June while in South San Francisco police custody. Ng became the object of an international manhunt when the remains of at least 11 murder victims were unearthed in Calaveras County after Lake’s death, and he was captured in Calgary. Authorities there said he is being constantly watched to prevent him from following his alleged partner’s example.
