Local News in Brief : Fund Memorializes Weintraubs’ Son
Los Angeles school board member Roberta Weintraub and her husband, Lewis, whose son was killed in a car accident, said Monday that a fund in his memory has been established at the special education high school at the Erikson Center for Adolescent Advancement.
Michael Allen Weintraub, 17, was killed Friday when the car he was driving struck a tree. Because Michael Weintraub was active on the school newspaper, a family spokeswoman said, the money will be used to purchase computers and set aside a special room for the newspaper.
Donations may be sent care of Roberta Weintraub, Los Angeles Board of Education, 450 N. Grand, Los Angeles, 90012.
