Reagan Signs Bill to Allow Minting of U.S. Gold Coins

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan signed legislation Tuesday authorizing the minting and sale of general-circulation gold coins for the first time in 53 years. The $50, $25, $10 and $5 gold bullion coins will go on sale next year.
