Lie Detectors
Your editorial “Tangled Web,” (Dec. 12) noted that the Reagan Administration has ordered lie-detector tests to track down news leakers. This had its counterpart in the John F. Kennedy Administration. Secretary of State Dean Rusk, ordered by JFK to track down and fire a news leaker traced the guilty party to the Oval office. “Mr. President, I can’t fire him,” said Rusk. “It’s you.”
Both roared.
