Brazil City Declares Drought Emergency

CURITIBA, Brazil —
A state of emergency has been declared here in Brazil’s ninth-biggest city, where months of drought have lowered drinking water supplies and reduced electricity from hydroelectric stations.
The million people living in Curitiba, capital of southeastern Parana state, have water for six more weeks, with taps running one day in three.
