Pavel Ploc of Czechoslovakia put together two jumps of more than 100 meters despite windy conditions to win a 90-meter ski jump at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany.
Ploc, the 1984 Olympic bronze medalist, jumped 345 feet 8 inches and 338 feet to compile 212.8 points. He edged Ernst Vettori of Austria, who went 351 feet and 318 feet for 211.5 points.
