MINNEAPOLIS — Mary Lund, the first woman to receive an artificial heart, has made dramatic progress since her surgery Dec. 18, but doctors said Friday that they were puzzled by the low level of clotting agent in her blood.
Lund, 40, was reported in critical but stable condition at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Doctors have upgraded her survival chance to “better than 50-50.”
