Poirier Paces USIU Hockey Team’s 4-2 Win

Kevin Poirier scored two goals to lead the U.S. International University hockey team to a 4-2 victory over the Air Force Academy Friday at the Mira Mesa House of Ice. Matt Shaw and Doug Hanesson scored a goal apiece for USIU (9-10).

The Gulls led, 2-0, after one period and, 2-1, after two. They put the game out of reach with two goals in a 3:03 span early in the third period. Air Force is 7-7. The same two teams play again at 7:30 tonight at the same site.
