Not-So-Amazing Story

Although I enjoyed Norman Corwin’s look at alien intelligence in science-fiction films (“Look Homely, Alien,” Dec. 1), he hasn’t done his homework. If he was seeking some truly dumb aliens, he had no further to look than this past summer’s “Explorers.” All these aliens wanted to do was recite lines from our old TV shows. More recently (perhaps too recently for Corwin’s deadline), episodes of “Amazing Stories” and “Tales from the Darkside” have dealt with aliens who worshiped our old TV shows.
