Activision lost a patent lawsuit.

Activision, which makes video games, said it will appeal a finding by the U.S. District Court in San Francisco in favor of Magnavox and Sanders Associates. The companies contended that 11 of Activision’s video game cartridges sold between 1980 and 1984 infringed a patent held by Sanders. A second trial is to be held to determine damages, but Activision said it doesn’t think any judgment will have a significant adverse effect on the company.
