Alpha Beta to Keep Warehouse

About 185 Teamsters Union workers employed at an Alpha Beta warehouse in Fullerton will begin returning to work after the successful close of tense negotiations to keep the warehouse open, Alpha Beta officials announced today.

“Alpha Beta is pleased to announce that since our employees voted overwhelmingly to accept the company’s offer, the phase-out process at Alpha Beta’s general merchandise warehouse is discontinued and all employees will be returned to work as soon as practical,” said Bill Wade, director of labor relations at Alpha Beta headquarters in La Habra. Alpha Beta had announced last Monday that it would close the warehouse because the contract recently reached with Teamsters and meat cutters did not include a lower wage scale for new workers.
