The U.S. won’t block software protection efforts.

The Justice Department said it won’t file antitrust objections against ADAPSO, a software makers trade group that is spearheading a drive for voluntary anti-piracy standards. ADAPSO, which represents about 80 computer software and service corporations, said that unauthorized copying of software cost the industry an estimated $800 million in lost revenue during 1985.
