The murder trial of reputed gang member Tiequon Aundray Cox opened with prosecutors calling the 18-year-old defendant the triggerman in the mistaken identity murders of four family members of former football star Kermit Alexander. “He is the man that walked in and actually did the executions,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Sterling Norris said in his opening statement. Norris said that after shooting Alexander’s 58-year-old mother, Ebora, Cox reportedly said, “I blew the bitch’s head off.” Attorneys for Cox declined to make an opening statement. One of three gang members accused of slaying Alexander’s mother, sister and two nephews in August, 1984, Cox would face the death penalty if convicted.
