Alan A. Takeda has been appointed vice president and head of the business banking section in Bank of America’s Gardena Area Management Group.

Gene Takei has been appointed executive vice president at K. Ogawa & Co. Inc. of Gardena, a distributor of writing instruments and art supplies.

Donald L. Powars has been elected to the board of directors of the National Bank of Catalina. Powars is an attorney and principal partner of Powars & Tretheway, which has offices in Long Beach and Irvine.
