Surgeons had no choice but to finish transplanting a liver into a middle-aged man after learning the donor had been exposed to the deadly AIDS virus, a doctor said in Pittsburgh. “The risks are really nil,” that the donor, an unidentified teen-age boy, had AIDS, said transplant pioneer Dr. Thomas E. Starzl of the Presbyterian-University Hospital.
