MINNEAPOLIS — The condition of Mary Lund, 40, has been upgraded to stable for the first time since she became the world’s first female recipient of an artificial heart three weeks ago, doctors said Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Sandra Carbone Collier is doing “remarkably well” after undergoing two human heart transplants in 24 hours, doctors said in Charlotte, N.C. The 31-year-old Forest City woman received her second transplant Tuesday.
