4 Face U.S. Air Piracy Charge in Prison Break

COLUMBIA, S.C. —
Three prison inmates and the woman accused of hijacking a helicopter to help them escape have been indicted on federal air piracy charges, officials said Thursday.
Indictments were returned Wednesday against Joyce Bailey Mattox, 40, Jesse Glenn Smith, 36, James Rodney Leonard, 20, and William Douglas Ballew, 42, officials said. They face state charges also in connection with their Dec. 19 escape from the Perry Correctional Institution.
