Zareh Kiragh, a Beverly Hills landscape artist whose projects were widely featured in Sunset magazine and The Times Home section during the 1950s, has died. He was 68.

Kiragh was better known as “Mr. Z” to his Beverly Hills customers, who enjoyed his use of large, blooming floral displays and brick driveways shaped in fans. He was born in Tabriz, Iran, and spent his childhood in France before coming to Los Angeles in the 1930s.

After attending UC Santa Barbara, Kiragh worked on churches and schools before landscaping the Brentwood Youth House and the Los Angeles Veterans Administration Center gardens.
