Models are expected to be ready by late spring and first-unit move-ins will commence in early summer at Brandywine, a Chula Vista town-house development by the nonprofit Housing Opportunities Inc. and the city of Chula Vista.
Five floor plans, four two-storied, will offer two and three bedrooms and 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 baths in 1,222 to 1,289 square feet. Prices are expected to begin at about $80,000 and range upward into the low $90,000s.
The project will eventually include 168 homes in 42 buildings on 18 acres on Orange Avenue just east of Interstate 85. The first increment will consist of 55 homes in 15 buildings. Seventy-five per cent of the units will be restricted to persons of qualifying incomes, who will be assisted in purchasing them.
