Swedish Officials to Snub Prince’s Ship
From Reuters
GOTHENBURG, Sweden —
The City Council in this port will boycott a visit by a British frigate on which Prince Andrew is an officer because his country refuses to guarantee that the vessel is not carrying nuclear weapons, a council official said today.
The Social Democratic-led council will not host a dinner for the officers and men of HMS Brazen or extend other traditional courtesies when the ship arrives on Jan. 30 for a four-day visit. Andrew, Queen Elizabeth’s second son, is a lieutenant and pilots a helicopter on the ship.
