Dartmouth College and football Coach Joe Yukica, who sued the school’s athletic director after he was fired, reached a settlement that allows him to coach through 1986 and then step down.

The settlement also calls for the terms of Yukica’s contract to extend through June, 1987.

The 54-year-old coach said the settlement probably will encourage colleges and coaches to abide by their contracts.
