Mississippi River Flow Sets Record in December

WASHINGTON —
The Mississippi River set a record last year with the highest December flow in 56 years of measurement, the U.S. Geological Survey reported Friday. An average of 765 billion gallons of water passed Vicksburg, Miss., each day, topping the 741-billion-gallon rate set in 1982.
