Carson : King Holiday Declared
The third Monday in January has been declared a city holiday in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
The measure to honor the slain civil rights leader with a city holiday was unanimously approved Tuesday by the City Council. King’s birthday this year was celebrated as a national holiday for the first time.
