The U.S. Defense Department awarded Ultrasystems Inc. of Irvine a total of six new contracts and extensions of existing contracts worth $6.7 million to develop computer hardware and software for military space-borne equipment that involve command, control, communication and intelligence programs. Details of the contracts, which are to be fulfilled by Sept. 30, are classified, said Phillip J. Stevens, president of Ultrasystems.
