Catholic Education Award to Go to Poet

Sister Maura Eichner, a poet and English professor at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, was named Wednesday to receive the Assn. of Catholic Colleges and Universities' top award for contributions to Catholic higher education.

Sister Maura, who has taught since 1943, is the author of seven books of poetry. Seventeen of her former students are also published authors.
