France’s Rene Metge and Dominique Lemoyne, in a four-wheel-drive Porsche, and Cyril Neveu, on a Honda, won the eighth Paris-to-Dakar, Senegal road rally. The marathon event was overshadowed by the death of founder-organizer Thierry Sabine in a helicopter accident a week ago, the death of a Japanese motorcyclist in an accident early in the race and another accident that left two French drivers critically injured.
