Utility Forgets Construction Permit for Nuclear Plant

WASHINGTON —
A Texas utility forgot to renew a construction permit for a $4.6-billion nuclear power plant it is building, the first time that has happened, the company and federal regulators said Friday.
Neither the company, Texas Utilities Inc., nor the Nuclear Regulatory Commission discovered the oversight for nearly six months.
No one could say immediately what the oversight would mean for the company’s Comanche Peak plant 80 miles southwest of Dallas.
