The Palos Verdes Peninsula News was sold.
The newspaper was acquired by Baker Communications from New York Times Co. for undisclosed terms. Baker is a publicly traded company that publishes six community newspapers in Southern California. The Peninsula News is a 48-year-old twice-weekly community newspaper serving the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The New York Times acquired the Peninsula News when it bought the Santa Barbara News-Press last summer. Baker said it has no plans for immediate changes, although it transformed another traditional community newspaper, the Newport Ensign, into a four-color tabloid after purchasing it.
