Storm Wipes Out Bananas

BRISBANE, Australia —
About one-third of Australia’s annual banana output was wiped out when Cyclone Winifred swept through northern Queensland over the weekend, a government spokesman said Thursday. He said 20,000 tons of bananas worth $21 million were destroyed.
