5 Filipino Soldiers Killed

MANILA —
About 200 Communist rebels battled government forces in the southern Philippines, killing five soldiers and blasting an armored vehicle with an anti-tank mine, military headquarters said Tuesday. It said seven other soldiers were wounded in the two-hour gun battle Monday.
