The city will distribute food to its needy on Thursday and Friday in the monthly distribution of surplus government food.

For more than 800 families living at or under the poverty level, the city has distributed dairy products, honey and rice each month for the last six years.

“This is a very good service to the community. There are many people who need this on a continuing basis,” said Betty Escobosa, director of human services.
