Only six of 345 blood samples from intravenous drug users attending state-licensed treatment centers were positive for antibodies to the virus that causes the deadly disease AIDS, researchers at the University of California, Davis, reported. Few drug users from Southern California were included in the study, and all the positive samples came from San Francisco.
