I loved your article about tailgaters (Other Views, Jan. 23) and the possibility of devastating deterrents.

A friend recently shared with me a two-word phrase which, posted in one’s back window, is guaranteed to keep following vehicles at their proper distance. The magic words: Student Driver.

(Of course, the demolition ball would be a lot more satisfying.)
