Veteran East German runner Marita Koch set a world indoor best mark in the women’s 200-meter sprint in a domestic track meet at Senftenberg, East Germany.
Koch, 28, won the race in 22.33 seconds, bettering her world indoor best standard by 6/100ths of a second. She set the old mark in a meet in Budapest, Hungary, in 1983.
