Senate OKs Genocide Treaty

WASHINGTON —
The Senate today ratified the genocide treaty intended to outlaw mass destruction of groups, 38 years after the United Nations adopted it. The vote was 83 to 11, and the United States now joins 82 other nations which have formally endorsed the treaty.
