WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the convictions of two men charged with kidnaping Edith Rosenkranz, wife of a wealthy Mexico City businessman, while she attended a bridge tournament in the nation’s capital.
Rosenkranz, whose husband, George, founded Syntex Corp., a pharmaceutical firm, was abducted at gunpoint from her hotel on July 19, 1984, held 48 hours and then freed after a $1-million ransom was paid.
Glenn I. Wright, 43, of Houston, and Dennis Moss, 28, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., were each sentenced to three consecutive life sentences and 106 years imprisonment on other charges connected with the kidnaping.
