The U.N. Human Rights Commission adopted three resolutions condemning alleged Israeli human rights violations in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip and called for Security Council sanctions against the Jewish State. The United States was alone in opposing the resolutions, which have become a regular feature of the commission’s annual sessions in Geneva. U.S. delegate Patricia Byrne assailed the resolutions saying “They do nothing to promote peace in the Middle East. . .”
