American Sends Insulin to Chinese Diabetics

PEKING —
An American sent six bottles of insulin to China after reading that an insulin shortage endangered the lives of about 2.5 million Chinese diabetics, the official English-language China Daily reported Thursday.
Alynne Martelle of Wethersfield, Conn., mailed the package to the paper with the request that it be distributed to needy children. The paper said the insulin was given to the Peking Children’s Hospital.
