Although Western Airlines declined to comment on recent activity in its stock, a company spokesman confirmed that Chairman Gerald Grinstein recently said that the air carrier had received “several inquiries from potential suitors.” The airline is thinking of adopting some anti-takeover measures, Grinstein said.
