White Consolidated filed suit against Electrolux.

The maker of household appliances said it filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Cleveland to block a $711-million takeover bid by AB Electrolux of Sweden. Ward Smith, president of White Consolidated, said in a prepared statement that the suit alleges numerous violations of federal securities laws as a result of filings by Electrolux with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Electrolux had no immediate comment on the suit.
