FAA Proposes Controls on Copter Noise Levels

The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday proposed a regulation to control the noise levels of new types of helicopters.

The regulation would not result in the immediate reduction of noise levels but would set up a noise standard based on current helicopter production, aviation officials said. The proposal will be published today in the Federal Register, officials said.
