Tustin Sues to Block Irvine Project

Tustin filed suit against the City of Irvine and its City Council Monday to set aside a zone change for the 2,500-acre Irvine Business Complex, which Tustin claims was improperly approved.
The suit, filed in Orange County Superior Court, claims that Irvine failed to take into account the impact of traffic on nearby Tustin streets.
The proposed complex near southeastern Tustin--a large concentration of office buildings, hotels, restaurants, shops and movie houses--is near the 55 Freeway and Interstate 5, where Tustin’s arterial system already “is at capacity,” the suit alleged.
