Queen Elizabeth II returned to London today without incident after a monthlong tour of Australia, New Zealand and Nepal, during which she was cheered by tens of thousands of fans but was also the target of egg-throwing and buttocks- and breast-baring protesters.

The queen and Prince Philip were accompanied by Governor General Sir Ninian Stephen and Prime Minister Bob Hawke to Adelaide airport, where the royal couple boarded an Australian air force jet for their flight home.
