ARTS CENTER GIVEN $100,000
The Orange County Division of Trammell Crow Co. has donated $100,000 toward the construction of the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
William Lane Jr., the Trammell Crow division’s partner-in-charge, said the gift was made in response to an earlier challenge pledge made by William Lyon.
Lyon, the builder and airline executive, announced last month that he and his wife, Willa Dean, will donate $1 million to the Center’s construction fund, provided an additional $3 million from other sources is raised by June.
Six other donations, totaling $305,000, have also been disclosed. These were given by Stephen Schnepf Jr.; the family of Arnold and Ruth Feuerstein; Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Halvorson; the family of Ed McGrath; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Zinke, and the Dynamic Engineering firm.
The Center has announced raising more than $58 million for the construction of the $70.7-million main-theater phase that is opening Sept. 29.
