Apple will build a $12-million plant in Singapore.

The Cupertino-based computer maker said Apple IIe models will be made at the new plant, which is scheduled to be completed in July, 1987. The facility also will serve as a distribution and service center, and is central to the company’s plan to boost its overseas sales to 35% of revenues, up from the current 22%. Apple has been making computers in Singapore for more than four years.
