Diodes’ Earnings Fall 56% in 3rd Quarter

Chatsworth-based Diodes Inc. reported its earnings for the third quarter ended Jan. 31 fell 56% from the same period last year on 2% lower sales. The company reported a profit for the quarter of $89,687, or 4 cents a share, on sales of nearly $2.8 million.

For the nine months ended Jan. 31, Diodes’ net income was down 78% to $184,062, or 9 cents a share. Sales for the period were down 15% to nearly $8.3 million.

Diodes, which makes power-supply regulators known as rectifiers, blamed its performance on the slump in the electronics industry.
