Man Bites Blasting Cap, Loses His Teeth
A 24-year-old man bit down on a blasting cap during a party, causing extensive injuries to his mouth, police said Wednesday.
State police Cpl. M. D. Payne said Jerry Stromyer was injured Tuesday after another man tried to explode the cap, which was hooked to a battery in an aquarium. “It wouldn’t go off and this guy said, ‘I’ll show you how to set it off.’ He put it in his mouth and bit down. It blew all his teeth off,” Payne said.
Stromyer was reported in satisfactory condition at Charleston Area Medical Division.
